FACET Grant Mechanism Overview
At FACET we are committed to supporting innovative research projects through a structured grant mechanism designed to facilitate collaboration and ensure thorough evaluation. Our process consists of five key steps to ensure that each project aligns with our mission and meets the necessary standards for funding.
FACET Grants 2025: Expression of Interest Just closed ! See you next year !
Do you have a project to accelerate French-Australian collaboration in energy transition? Submit your Expression of Interest (EOI) now for a chance to be part of our next round of funding! Deadline : April 1rst, 2025
How do we help with your grant?
The process begins with an initial interview between the applicant and the FACET team to discuss the project in detail. Following this, we provide a template for the research team to complete, outlining their project goals, methodologies, and expected outcomes. Once the application is submitted, it undergoes a pre-approval review by our Expert Panel, which evaluates the project’s feasibility and alignment with our strategic objectives.
What next?
Approved projects then proceed to the Steering Committee for final funding approval, which takes place three times a year. Upon approval, recipients receive funding along with detailed guidelines to ensure successful project implementation.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your project further, please reach out to us.

OUR SKILLS RODAMAP FOR CLEAN ENERGY
As the clean energy transition ramps up, we are working to better understand the current and future skills and training needs for workers. Doing so requires input from stakeholders across the sector, including representatives from education institutions and industry. To capture vital industry insights, we are inviting representatives from a broad range of clean energy and related industries and associations to complete a short online survey and/or meet with the research team for an interview.
The Franco-Australian Centre for Energy Transition (FACET) combines partners from universities, research institutions, and industry to undertake joint activities in innovation, research, education, and training. FACET is co-led by CEA, Université Grenoble-Alpes, and Swinburne University of Technology. As part of this initiative, Swinburne aims to develop a skills and education-based roadmap that highlights the current and future jobs and skills needs across the French and Australian clean economies. This roadmap will outline educational offerings that will respond to these needs, offering insights and recommendations for a well-informed trajectory for FACET-led skills and education.
